Town Clerk Jackie Earley announced Tuesday she will retire at the end of the month after 39 years with the town, surprising members of the Town Board during its Oct. 14 meeting.
“I am writing to formally announce my retirement as town clerk for the town of Woodstock, effective October 31st, 2025,” Earley said via Zoom from Memphis, Tennessee, where she is assisting her brother after surgery. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident that the town is in a strong position moving forward in light of my retirement.”
Earley recommended that Deputy Town Clerk Meghann Reimondo be appointed to serve out the remainder of her term. Reimondo, she said, “has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism and a clear commitment to serving the people of Woodstock.”
Supervisor Bill McKenna thanked Earley for her tenure. “You’ve been a loyal, dedicated, hard working employee for this town for 39 years, and I thank you for your service,” he said.
McKenna initially offered a resolution to accept Earley’s resignation and appoint Reimondo as her successor, but board members opted to pause the appointment. “I think that we as a board should meet with Meghann to discuss to see if she’s interested in the position,” said Board Member Anula Courtis. The board ultimately agreed to table the discussion until an executive session before next week’s town board meeting on Oct. 21.
