Woodstock’s 43rd annual Holiday Open House kicks off at 4 p.m., aiming to jumpstart holiday sales with a festive and enticing atmosphere as stores festooned with holiday trimmings stay open until 8 p.m.
Visitors are invited to pop into village stores to enjoy the holiday decorations while checking gifts off their holiday shopping list. Among the events, the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum offers hands-on printmaking from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a jazz set by Steve Raleigh at 6 p.m. The Rock Academy Showband will perform holiday songs on the Village Green at 6 p.m.
Woodstock merchants help cover a range of costs for the event, including the printing of posters and flyers, and artwork, said Woodstock Holiday Open House organizer Daisy Bolle, whose mother and original owner of Woodstock Design, Robin Kramer, launched the first festival.
“It’s a fun, festive night for the whole family,” said Bolle, who operates Woodstock Design and the Woodstock Trading Post.
Contributions from merchants are also going toward a donation for the Rock Academy scholarship fund.
