The New York Knicks are playing in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. If they win, it will be the team’s first championship since 1973, closing a 53-year championship drought.
The Knicks, who led the San Antonio Spurs 1-0 in the seven-game series as of June 4, are three wins away from a title after beating the Spurs 105-95 in Game 1.
New York is on a historic run, with 12 consecutive wins in the playoffs. The Knicks are chasing not only the franchise’s first championship in more than half a century, but one of the most dominant postseason runs in NBA history.
