Pride Month arrives in the Catskills with parades, movie nights, drag story time, and family events planned in Woodstock, Hunter, and Shandaken.
The celebrations come during a month whose modern LGBTQ+ meaning traces back to the Stonewall uprising, a series of riots in June 1969 that marked a turning point in the gay rights movement and helped give rise to modern-day Pride.
Residents can head to Hunter for a movie night at Mountaintop Pride, join Woodstock’s third annual Pride parade, or attend Pine Hill Pride in Shandaken later this summer.
