Woodstock’s town board voted unanimously to name former Councilman Reggie Earls to fill a vacant seat on the Town Board on Tuesday, plugging a spot left vacant when Anula Courtis was sworn in as town supervisor on Jan. 1.

Before the vote, Courtis opened her first meeting as supervisor with a brief declaration that the town would be “reorganized properly” and that appointments would be handled in an orderly and transparent way. She said the reorganization process was meant to establish clear expectations and procedures for both staff and board members as Woodstock prepared for a new year of municipal business.

Earls served as assistant director of organizational culture and engagement in the People and Culture Department at Omega Institute, the nonprofit retreat center in Rhinebeck. In that role, he focused on staff development, internal communications, and initiatives designed to strengthen employee engagement, collaboration, and workplace culture.
