Democrats secured decisive wins across the Catskills on Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Ulster and Greene County Boards of Elections. In Shandaken, Democrat Barbara Mansfield unseated incumbent Supervisor Peter DiSclafani, who ran on the Working Families Party line, while incumbents including Saugerties Supervisor Fred M. Costello Jr. and Olive Supervisor Jim Sofranko, both Democrats, retained their seats. In Saugerties, incumbent Town Board member Zach Horton lost his bid for re-election as Democrats Bill Barr and Stephanie Bassler captured both council seats, defeating Republican challengers Horton and Mike Sasso. In Hurley, Democrats Debbie Dougherty and Griff Liewa won Town Board seats over incumbent Tim Kelly, who ran on the Keep Hurley Hurley line, while Supervisor Michael Boms and Highway Superintendent Michael Shultis were both re-elected.
