A 93-year-old Catskill man died Thursday, June 4, after a two-vehicle crash on Route 32 in Saugerties, according to the Saugerties Police Department.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m.

Robert Goldberg died from injuries he suffered when the 2022 Volkswagen he was driving south on Route 32 collided with a 1988 Freightliner dump truck, police said. The crash occurred as a 57-year-old Palenville man was turning the truck onto Old Route 32.

Goldberg died while being treated at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, police said. No charges are expected, according to police.

The crash is under investigation by the Saugerties Police Department, New York State Police, and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team.
