A Guide to Local New Year’s Happenings

Amateur night. Out with the old, in with the new. Bidding farewell to a friend in the waning hours of Dec. 31, 2025, and bellowing, “Hey, I’ll see ya next year.”

New Year’s Eve looms large over us all.

So how will you ring in 2026? Will you remain tucked in at home and watch the Times Square ball drop on television? Perhaps you’ll enjoy a nice dinner with family and friends and retire early, having made a conscious decision to forego midnight revelry.

Or you may want to embrace the bacchanalia—don your finest threads and rage your way through the annual countdown with music, dancing and dining out.

Chris Wells and The Silver Spaceship will perform at the Colony Woodstock with Freeks Garage.

“It’s a big show,” said Wells, 61. “There’s 11 people on stage, a horn section, lots of silver costumes. It’s a party band—but it’s a serious musical experience.”

As for New Year’s Eve itself, Wells said, “I think New Year’s is really special. Here’s the thing I will say, having done this show—if you get a great band and you get people to take it seriously, it can be transformational. It can be really meaningful to people.”
