Woodstock band Big Deep will play a free show Saturday, Aug. 22, on the front porch of Happy Life Productions as part of the Woodstock Music Walk.

The performance begins at 6 p.m. at 59 Tinker St. The Music Walk will feature about 30 musicians performing outside businesses throughout town.

Band members plan to meet attendees after the performance and promote their Sept. 5 show at the Bearsville Theater Lounge.

โ€œIโ€™m super excited and to have this come about and be part of the Music Walk is super cool,โ€ said Jordan Fairless, a Woodstock resident who co-founded the band and plays bass. โ€œItโ€™s a fun opportunity to get out and meet people.โ€

Happy Life sells tie-dye T-shirts, Woodstock merchandise, photographs, and other goods, and also hosts live music.

In June, guitarists Grahame Lesh, a son of the late Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, and Daniel Donato, who fronts the band Cosmic Country, performed there as a duo.

Big Deep describes its sound on its website as โ€œindie rock with expansive rhythms and addictive melody; โ€™90s alternative grit wrapped in southern soul with a honky-tonk sway, soaring synths, and an unstoppable drum groove.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m glad to be playing for my neighbors and my community,โ€ Fairless said. โ€œAnd to get to have friends and family coming by to check it out, as well as visitors just walking by.โ€
